Welcome to the Nomadic Archivists Project Press (NAP Press)
NAP Press was founded in 2020 as a platform to publish writing by and about memory workers: archivists, librarians, oral historians, genealogists, bibliographers, filmmakers, podcasters…of African descent by building on the rich tradition of storytelling to preserve global Black stories. We believe strongly in elevating these narratives by working with contemporary memory workers who understand the necessity of keeping our diverse and nuanced culture through books, journals, zines, and other forms. We understand that, as Toni Morrison once said, "narrative is radical, creating us at the very moment it is being created," and through this independent press, we strive to preserve Black narrative in the key of liberation and fundamental change in the condition of Black people worldwide.
Our mission is to publish work that taps the depth and complexity of Black narrative. We firmly place ourselves alongside other publishers and editors creating work for future generations who will be searching for what happened here, who were the witnesses and how they lived.
